Passing Down the Medical Legacy, Upgrading Intelligence | Wreadycare Nurse Call System Powers New Development at the Second Hospital of Jilin University

Wreadycare Nurse Call System Supports the New Development of the Second Bethune Hospital of Jilin University.

Wreadycare Nurse Call System has successfully secured the bid for a project covering 1,200 beds at the Second Bethune Hospital of Jilin University. Through this collaboration, the hospital will be equipped with a comprehensive, intelligent nurse call system designed to enhance the quality of its smart and digitized services. This system will establish a seamless communication and management framework between medical staff and patients, thereby facilitating more efficient and orderly hospital administration.

Institutional Background

The Second Hospital of Jilin University traces its origins back to November 1936, when it was established as the "Xinjing Special Municipal Hospital" under the puppet state of Manchukuo. Following the victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it was renamed the "Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University College of Medicine" in 1946.

Over the subsequent 88 years of the New China era, the institution underwent several name changes—including the First Affiliated Hospital of Changchun Medical University, the Second College of Changchun Military Medical University, the Second Hospital of the First Military Medical University of the PLA, and the Second Clinical College of Bethune Medical University—until the early 21st century.

Following the merger of Bethune Medical University with Jilin University, the hospital was officially renamed the Second Hospital of Jilin University. Covering a total land area of 171,000 square meters—with a built-up area of 439,000 square meters and an additional 315,000 square meters currently under construction—it stands as a modern, comprehensive "Grade III, Class A" clinical teaching hospital.

The Modern Healthcare Challenge

As the hospital continues to expand in scale and patient demands grow increasingly complex, traditional nurse call systems have proven insufficient to meet the requirements for efficient and convenient management in a modern hospital setting. Addressing the challenge of responding immediately to a multitude of patient needs—ranging from dressing changes, injections, and vital sign measurements to specialized nursing care—requires a nurse call system that is rich in features, versatile in application, yet simple to operate and intuitive to understand. Such a system is essential for achieving both orderly management and highly refined, patient-centered services.

Technical Implementation
Wreadycare Project Deployment

Against this backdrop, the Second Hospital of Jilin University issued a public tender for a nurse call and intercom system. Leveraging its professional technical expertise and extensive industry experience, Wreadycare successfully won the bid for the 1,200-bed project.

Bedside & Room Units

Independent bedside extension units, IP door units, and waterproof restroom emergency buttons for every room.

Nursing Consoles

Main nurse consoles, IP physician on-duty consoles, and dual-sided dot-matrix corridor displays.

System Integration

Full integration with the hospital's HIS (Hospital Information System) and partitioned medical intercom platform management.

Wreadycare Medical Intercom System Benefits

This system—known as the Wreadycare Medical Intercom System—is characterized by its high cost-effectiveness, strong practical utility, and extensive scalability. It effortlessly facilitates a wide range of functions, including:

  • Two-way audio communication between patients and medical staff.
  • Call forwarding between different patient rooms for flexible staffing.
  • Post-discharge health education and group management for patients.
  • Direct service requests via bedside units (dressing changes, physician rounds, bill inquiries).

By simultaneously addressing the diverse needs of patients and enabling refined service delivery through system-based allocation, this solution effectively enhances the hospital's overall service quality and streamlines its administrative management.
